Council Tax reduction scheme consultation 2023
We currently provides a Council Tax Reduction scheme to help those on a low-income. The scheme will reduce the council tax cost for a household by up to 100%. Despite a reduction in government funding, the Council has retained the discount to the same as it was when first implemented in 2013.
Implementation of a Clean Air Zone in Arlen Hill
The Government has implemented limits for pollution which we must abide to by law. To tackle this, we are introducing a Clean Air Zone in an attempt to tackle high levels of pollution and make Arlen Hill a cleaner and safer place to live. We are proposing two options of clean air zones which we would like your feedback on.

Road maintenance
We are allocating an additional £6.03million of the budget for highway maintenance. This will be invested in more proactive maintenance to preserve the condition of its roads.
Homelessness
We have successfully secured a further £1.3 million of government funding from the Single Homelessness Accommodation Programme (SHAP) to tackle homelessness and rough sleeping.
Bike It Plus project
Over 470 children in the county have been supported to learn how to ride a bike or improve their cycling skills. According to the project, this has led to an increase in the number of children now travelling to school by active means.
